Eric Everett Jazz performs traditional jazz/latin standards with a contemporary approach. Repertoire ranges from American Songbook, including Duke Ellington, Bill Evans, Miles Davis, Antonio Carlos Jobim, to jazz/pop and R&B artists such as Steely Dan, Aretha Franklin & Bill Withers.
Since 2012, EEJ has built an extensive client list, including Guarino's Restaurant, Speak of the Devil Cocktails, Playhouse Square, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Vault Lounge, The City Club, Rockefeller's and The Culinary Institute, among others.
Charlene Smythe is an accomplished vocalist, returning to Cleveland from San Francisco where she toured with Melvin Seals and JGB. She was a frequent performer at Skip's in San Francisco and has backup vocal Motown recording experience. Upon arriving in Cleveland, Princess Ladia and King Solomon encouraged her to perform with prominent local blues and jazz musicians, including: Alan Greene, Ernie Krivda, Butch Armstrong Band and Reginald Redd.
Eric Everett, leader, has nearly four decades of drumming experience, studying privately at Baldwin-Wallace Conservatory with Dr. George Kiteley, performing in Case Western Reserve University's small group Jazz and Big Band ensembles. At CWRU, he participated in the Tri-C Jazz Fest and was also a member of two popular Cleveland 90's bands, Public Library and Five Minutes Fast. Eric has been a backing drummer for jazz vocali
